Brendon Inniss, principal and chief executive, quality assurance and business development manager at Aleron Limited, is a registered professional structural engineer (BOETT Member No. 19-1018) with 22 years post-graduate experience. He has been the engineer of record on a broad spectrum of projects from small (TT$300M), in Trinidad and Tobago as well as; Grenada, Montserrat, Barbados, St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia and Dominica . He has worked on a wide range of projects which includes: multi-storey commercial & residential buildings; primary & secondary schools; hotel resorts, warehouses and private single-family residences. Noteworthy projects executed through his private practice include; Hotel Royalton (St. Lucia); Kempinski Resort & Spa (Dominica); Six Senses Residences (Grenada); the main administration buildings for: Carenage and Shirvan Road Police Stations, COSTAATT, the Ministry of Health and the soon to be completed ANR Robinson International Airport in Tobago. Brendon also has extensive experience in the energy sector, having designed projects for clients with a background in oil, gas, chemical and power. He has designed numerous non-building structures on special projects for: Atlantic LNG; Petrotrin, TGU, NGC, Nutrien, PLNL, Phoenix Park Gas Processors Limited, NFM, YARA and Trinmar. Brendon earned his BSc (Civil & Enviornmental Engineering) in 2002 and his MSc (Construction Engineering & Management) in 2010 at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. He maintains active membership in the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad & Tobago (APETT) currently serving as Assistant Treasurer on the Executive Council as well as an ordinary member on the APETT Civil Division. In 2021, Brendon became a Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council (UK) and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (UK). He has also been a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for over 20 years and is currently a Level 1 certified PT installer (field fundamentals) certified with the Post Tensioning Institute – responsible for designing over 90,000 sq.m of PT slab on grade foundations as well as suspended PT slabs currently in service in Trinidad. At the helm of Aleron Limited since its inception in 2011, Brendon utilizes his Six Sigma Yellow Belt training to continually improve the organization so as to ensure relevance and competent technical abilities in accordance with today’s rapid technological advancements. He has acquired and maintained ISO 9001:2015 certification for Aleron and champions HSE awareness within the organization via fortnightly toolbox safety talks and continuously improve on QA/QC measures within the firm. Brendon also ensures that the he and his diverse team actively maintains technical capability through continuing professional development and education via a combination of his internal training program (Aleron University); external training seminars and distance learning (online webinars).
