Miss Leah Wright is youthful and dynamic civil engineer who holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and a PhD Candidate at the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus. As a PhD candidate Miss Wright’s scope of study is on Mode Choice Modelling in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) with an ultimate objectives of a modernizing and improving public transportation systems in the Caribbean with more efficient commutes through the reduction of traffic congestion. Miss Wright’s contribution to the field of Civil Engineering is also evidenced by her professional endeavours at the St. Augustine Campus. In this capacity, Miss Wright’s areas of research have been the study of paratransit modes in Caribbean public transportation systems, and climate change in transportation. Miss Wright has also regularly contributed to the academic realm as she has presented at the Intl Association for Travel Behaviour Research (IATBR), a reviewer for Transportation Research Board and is a published writer.
